Private Lacrosse Training in San Antonio
Alamo City Lacrosse — one-on-one and small-group training with Coach Paul Taylor
What Is Alamo City Lacrosse?
Alamo City Lacrosse is San Antonio’s best option for private lacrosse lessons and small-group lacrosse training.
Just as students thrive in smaller classrooms, athletes develop best with individual instruction. The best learning environment is a low coach-to-player ratio, and at 1-on-1 your athlete gets the coach’s full attention. We have spent 15+ years working with athletes of every background, and we are confident these methods work — we have watched dozens of players start at their very first lesson and go on to successful collegiate careers. If you want to be the best, train with Alamo City Lacrosse!

Team Practice vs. Individual Practice
Team practice was never built for individual development. It is designed to make the team better — and that matters — but it was never going to be enough on its own.
The truth is that real skill development happens outside of practice — in the hours a player spends training with clear goals and a roadmap to reach them. If your athlete is relying on team practice alone to get better, they are already falling behind the players who are not, and it usually does not show up until tryouts or game day.
So when a player is struggling to make plays on game day, the answer is not more team practice. It is individual training built around them — their position, their habits, the two or three things actually holding them back. Get that balance right and everything flips: practice stops being the place your athlete tries to keep up, and becomes the place they show everyone what they have been working on.

Where We Train
Meet Coach Paul
Born and raised in San Antonio, Paul played at Saint Mary’s Hall under legendary coach Earl Bill before earning All-American honors in 2008 — one of just eight players selected statewide.
He went on to play collegiately at the NCAA Division III level, where he was a Conference Champion and All-Conference defenseman, ranked the #8 defender in the country by LaxPower.
He started Alamo City Lacrosse because he had great coaching growing up and wanted to pass that on to the next generation of San Antonio players. After his college career he moved back home and began training players privately — that is where Alamo City Lacrosse was born, and he has been doing it ever since. Lacrosse is a great game, and there is nothing more rewarding than watching a player get better.
With 15+ years of coaching across San Antonio, Denver, and back home again, Paul has built programs from the ground up — including a Colorado state Coach of the Year season and a Final Four appearance. He is now the Varsity Head Coach at Central Catholic High School, in addition to running Great American Lacrosse.
Paul is a USA Lacrosse Certified Platinum Level Coach — the highest standard, for both boys and girls — and a Parisi Speed Certified Coach. His philosophy starts with discipline, hard work and character: building better athletes and better young people.

1-on-1 Sessions With Coach Paul
Can Personal Training Help Your Athlete?
Our exceptional personal lacrosse trainers work with players at all stages of their lacrosse development.
Brand New Players
Repetition builds habits — good or bad. A player who practices with incorrect fundamentals is reinforcing mistakes every single rep.
We build a strong fundamental foundation first, which is what makes long-term progress possible.
Good Players Who Want More
Is your athlete not quite reaching their potential? Think of it exactly like hiring a tutor for a school subject.
One-on-one time with Coach Paul targets the specific issues holding them back, instead of hoping your athlete will learn it at team practice. Hoping isn’t a strategy.
Players Chasing College Lacrosse
Is practice sometimes boring because your son or daughter is not being challenged? Does your athlete have aspirations to play in college?
Train with one of the best players ever to come out of San Antonio, get pushed to the limit every session, and find out exactly what the next level asks for.
Best Times to Train
Before the Season Starts
Goal: walk in sharp on day one, while the competition is still rusty from not picking up a stick since last season.
Timing: the weeks leading up to tryouts and the first practice.
Before a Big Game or Tournament
Goal: fine-tune skills so your athlete peaks for the tournament, game or showcase.
Timing: 1–2 weeks out, typically 3–4 sessions per week.
All Year Long
Want to be better than the rest? Train year-round and be the best in the city.
Aiming for the NCAA level? We know exactly what that takes.
